Learn Irish 1 Irish Alphabet & Pronunciation COD as GAEILGE Style!



Full Script:

◘ Conas ata sibh, gach éinne ar Youtube?

    How are you all, everybody on Youtube?

◘ Inniu táimid chun aibítir na Gaeilge agus fuaimniú na litreacha a foghlaim

   Today we are going to learn the Irish alphabet and the pronunciation of the letters

◘ Ó sea, rud amháin eile sara bhfágaim bhur scáileán

   Oh yes, one more thing before I leave your screen

◘ Faoi láthair tá tú ag leibhéal a haon. Críochnaigh an fís seo chun leibhéal a dó a bhaint amach!

   Currently you are at level one. Finish this video to reach level two!

◘ Úsáideann an Ghaeilge aibítir na Laidine

   Irish uses the Latin alphabet

◘ Ach, go ginearálta, ní úsáidtear na litreacha seo a leanas i nGaeilge...

   But, generally, the following letters are not used in Irish...

◘ These letters are NOT used in Irish

   j  k  q  v  w  x  y  z

◘ Mar sin, tá aibítir na Gaelainne déata suas de na litreacha seo a leanas...

   Therefore, the Irish alphabet is made up of the following letters...

◘ a b c d e f g h i l m n o p r s t u

◘ Fúaimníonn na litreacha mar an gcéanna le haibítir an Bhéarla, ach tá eisceacht amháin ann...

 The letters are pronounced the same as the English alphabet, but there is one exception...

◘ Fúaimnítear an litir 'a' mar 'aaa'

   The letter 'a' is pronounced 'aaa'

◘  Anois, rud amháin eile maidir le haibítir na Gaeilge...

   Now, one more thing about the Irish alphabet...

◘  Is féidir le na gutaí síneadh fada a thógaint...

   The vowels can take an acute accent...

◘ á é í ó ú

◘ Comhghairdeas, tá tú tar éis leibhéal a dó a bhaint amach!
